I'm not really sure what to say about this disc other than I really like it and The Choir is one of my favorite bands. The sound of this one isn't as dated like Diamonds and remains creative throughout. This is where the band was really starting to find their sound. Derri's guitar work here is incredible. He's no technical player but he's got this way with effects and tones that can really stir up emotions and images. It's probably pretty easy for Steve Hindalong to come up with lyrics. I can't really even pick a favorite because I love them all.

Useless Fact: The CD version of Kangaroo came with the songs from the Shades of Grey EP back when they were called Youth Choir. They're not bad - very 80's though. Also: Steve Hindalong has gone on record saying that he's tired of explaining "Chase the Kangaroo" so he just doesn't anymore.

  1. Anyone who has slaved away at a dead-end job should understand "Kangaroo."
